The Art Educator, Reshaping The Thinking of Our Community

March 5th, 2005 - April 16th, 2005

For the slideshow of the art, The Art Educator Slideshow.

The Avenue Art Gallery at 114 Washington Avenue, Endicott, NY is proud to present an exhibition highlighting the works of Art Educators, those who work with our youth and young adults in the public schools, K – 12, and the College/University levels. See what the Press & Sun-Bulletin had to say in their "Good Times" feature on Thursday 02/24/05. Show celebrates the creativity that sustains art teachers.

Through this exhibition, the Avenue Art Gallery intends to raise the awareness our community has with respect to the role that the Art Educator plays, not only in the education of our youth, but also with the improvement of the cultural and business segments of our community. The Gallery will provide an opportunity for our community to see the creativity that art educators bring to their classrooms through the art that is shown during this exhibition. The Artists will share with the viewers their philosophy in how they work with students to develop the creative and innovative thinking skills needed to take part and contribute in tomorrow’s society.

The Avenue Art Gallery is also helping the Greater Binghamton Community fulfill a component of its long-range plan as outlined by AngelouEconomics. Through ventures, such as this exhibition, the community will develop a reputation as an area rich in cultural activities. Money will be brought into our community, as people are attracted to the Greater Binghamton Area for these cultural activities, to visit, shop and purchase goods and services.

The Exhibition will open on Saturday, March 5th 2005 with a Gallery Walk at 4:00 PM and immediately following will be a Public Reception that will go until 8:00 PM. For more information, the gallery can be reached at (607)785-7396 or through email to chlkdust@aol.com.

We would like to sincerely thank our sponsors for this show: M&T Bank, Price Chopper(Endicott), Price Chopper(Home Office), Walmart, Callahan Printers, Cheevers Hand & Angeline Inc., Giant Markets, Visions Federal Credit Union, and Barnes & Noble.
