The Avenue Art Gallery in conjunction with The Art School is proud to present it's first joint venture; "A Holiday Show", featuring over 20 artists from across New York State working in a wide variety of art media. This will be the first in a series of monthly shows planned throughout an exciting and varied 2006 season at the Gallery.

Through this exhibition, the Avenue Art Gallery and The Art School intend to raise the awareness our community has with respect to the roles that the Art School and the Art Gallery play, not only in the education of students of all ages, but also with the improvement of the cultural and business segments of our community. In addition it is our hope to provide a kickoff for the community to a festive time of year with our "Holiday Show". The Gallery will also provide an opportunity for our community to see the creativity that independent artists, art educators as well as their students bring through the art that is shown during this exhibition. The artists will share with the viewers their philosophy as to how their work has developed, the techniques used, as well as a brief history of their experiences as it relates to their artwork.

The Avenue Art Gallery is also helping the Greater Binghamton Community fulfill a component of its long-range plan as outlined by AngelouEconomics. Through ventures, such as this exhibition, the community will develop a reputation as an area rich in cultural activities. Money will be brought into our community, as people are attracted to the Greater Binghamton Area for these cultural activities, to visit, shop and purchase goods and services.
