Maria Trinca's Biography - Art by Annapurna
Artist Maria Trinca was born and raised in Buffalo, New York (USA). Maria's paintings, collages, and sculpture
reflect an abstract ordered chaos... can you see that as well? Maria's favorite activites include
art, art, art, computers, computers, computers, travel, travel, travel, and other patterns, patterns, patterns.
Maria uses the name Annapurna in her work, because it signifies nourishment. Annapurna
symbolizes an emotional, spirtual, and visual nourishment, conveyed in watercolors, oils, lipsticks,
coffee grounds, and other media that can express an alternate visual reality.
"I begin my artwork as a need to begin a visual conversation. Sometimes my artwork will make sense to you,
as if you have listened to a conversation from the beginning. Sometimes your response will be as if
you have listened to some of the conversation without hearing the important details. Your response,
whatever it might be, will begin a new thread of conversation and dialogue where my artistic conversation
ends... and so, giving nourishment, becomes a continuing process."
Maria's travels are also reflected in her artwork and her impressions of people and places, near and far,
can be seen in her evolving electronic gallery.
Maria has exhibited at Lost Dog Cafe in Binghamton, La Tazza coffee house, Frame to Please, Original
Italian Restaurant, Avenue Art Gallery, A Gathering of People: One World,One Heart,
