Seascapes Postcard

Avenue Art Gallery proudly presents Seascapes and Flora Fantasia. This exhibit is a celebration of the joys of summer. After spending months of dark winter days in the northeast, Broome County residents long for spring and summer and the activities that they can do outdoors. Enjoying being back outside to work in their gardens or just taking in the beauty of the flowers that are all around us is one of those activities. Traveling to the beach, those places where the land meets the sea, is a tradition that is eagerly anticipated and looked forward to by many.

As we move from spring to summer, the Avenue Art Gallery is bringing these activities to the people here in the Greater Binghamton Area with this Exhibition. 28 artists will be sharing their visions of seascapes, with the rippling waves, the crashing of surf against rocks, and the beauty of flowers, either in formal arrangements or as they are in nature.

This Exhibition will run from June 5, 2004 through July 17, 2004. There will be a Grand Opening and Public Reception on June 5 from 5:30 until 8:30 PM and a Gallery Walk preceding the opening at 4:00 PM. The public is welcomed and encouraged to join the Gallery and the artists in celebrating the return of spring and summer by stopping in and seeing the wonderful works created by talented artists.

Artists featured on the postcard include Colleen Adour, Kathy Arrington, Armondo Dellasanta, Martha Deming, Tom Hussey, Lee McVey, Ken Rozek, Marian Simpson, Maria Trinca, and Chuck Williamson. Artists also included in the show, but not featured on the postcard are Aubrey Clark, Elsie Fendick, Tom Gardner, Bill Grausgruber, Michele LaComb, Dee Ross, and Jade Thurnwood.

An extra feature in the show will be the showing of several works of art by local students from the public schools. These are works that are presently hanging in the gallery as part of the DaVinci Festival of Art.
